Highly multiplexed spatial profiling with CODEX: bioinformatic analysis and application in human disease

Wilson Kuswanto, Garry Nolan, Guolan Lu. ebi.ac.uk. November 21, 2022.

This narrative review explains CODEX tissue imaging, processing limitations and spatial analysis. Its disease examples summarize cited studies; they do not supply a new patient cohort or independent replication. The review calls for stronger causal and prospective validation.

Physical Considerations for an Intercept Mission to a 1I/'Oumuamua-like Interstellar Object

Amir Siraj, Abraham Loeb, Amaya Moro-Martin, Mark Elowitz, Abigail White, Wesley A. Watters, Gary J. Melnick, Richard Cloete, Jonathan Grindlay, Frank Laukien. arxiv.org. November 3, 2022.

Siraj, Loeb and colleagues outline requirements for a proposed interstellar-object intercept. Detection and reachability forecasts depend on assumptions; material analogues and modelled spectra do not identify an artificial object.

"Down to Earth" Limits on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in Ukraine (Comment on arXiv:2208.11215)

Abraham Loeb. arxiv.org. October 5, 2022.

Loeb argues that assumed high atmospheric speeds should produce strong frictional luminosity, and that a shorter inferred range could permit ordinary explanations. His conditional critique supplies no raw-observation refit or identified object. The paper acknowledges Galileo Project support and a Breakthrough Prize Foundation grant; it does not document the unnamed official visit separately reported in his book.

Interstellar Meteors are Outliers in Material Strength

Amir Siraj, Abraham Loeb. arxiv.org. September 20, 2022.

Siraj and Loeb infer unusually high breakup pressures for two reported meteors from catalogue inputs. IM1 reuses the earlier analysis; IM2 remains a candidate whose interstellar origin requires confirmation. Breakup pressure is a model proxy, rather than a laboratory composition measurement. Early weak flaring, corrected light-curve normalization, sensor bias and small-number population assumptions qualify the conclusions. This paper supplies no new government approach or classified-data receipt.

Unidentified aerial phenomena I. Observations of events

B.E. Zhilyaev, V.N. Petukhov, V.M. Reshetnyk. arxiv.org. August 23, 2022.

Zhilyaev and colleagues report daytime imaging, angular motion and brightness variation. Their dark-object distances depend on assumed albedo and atmospheric scattering; derived sizes and extreme speeds inherit those assumptions. Moon and water-tower comparisons offer limited calibration checks. A separate two-station claim depends on synchronization and matching the same object. These reported measurements do not establish craft identity or extraterrestrial origin.

Postmitotic G1 phase survivin drives mitogen-independent cell division of B lymphocytes

Amit Singh, Matthew H Spitzer, Jaimy P Joy, Mary Kaileh, Xiang Qiu, Garry P Nolan, Ranjan Sen. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. April 27, 2022.

This mouse-cell and laboratory-cell study examines continued B-cell division after removal of overt stimulation. Perturbation findings support a survivin-associated role within these models, while sufficiency and physiological generalization remain unestablished. Nolan contributed research and analytic tools; work-level public NIH/NIA support does not establish a classified or UAP approach.

Variation of Immune Cell Responses in Humans Reveals Sex-Specific Coordinated Signaling Across Cell Types

Gabriela K. Fragiadakis, Zachary B. Bjornson-Hooper, Deepthi Madhireddy, Karen Sachs, Han Chen, David R. McIlwain, Matthew H. Spitzer, Sean C. Bendall, Garry P. Nolan. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. March 28, 2022.

This healthy-donor study describes correlated immune responses and sex-associated differences within one cohort. Its reported prediction tests use donors from that same cohort; clinical or causal conclusions are not established. Root reviewed results, discussion, captions and declarations, with the entire Methods section excluded. FDA contracts are acknowledged at work level without identifying Nolan as their individual recipient. Nolan advised and edited the study; these public acknowledgements do not establish a classified UAP approach.

Subcortical Brain Morphometry Differences between Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Schizophrenia

Akila Weerasekera, Adrian Ion-Mărgineanu, Garry Nolan, Maria Mody. ebi.ac.uk. March 25, 2022.

Weerasekera, Nolan and colleagues compare brain-region measurements within separate autism and schizophrenia datasets. The exploratory findings have scanner, selection and interpretation limits, including disagreements between the paper’s prose, tables and figures.

Kepler-1708 b-i is likely undetectable with HST

Ben Cassese, David Kipping. arxiv.org. March 24, 2022.

A simulation estimates HST recovery if the proposed Kepler-1708 moon exists. Seven of75 trials meet all requirements; conditional10±3% detectability is separate from the probability a moon exists. Optimistic systematics and JWST forecasts remain assumptions, with no independent detection or UAP claim.

A Comprehensive Atlas of Immunological Differences Between Humans, Mice, and Non-Human Primates

Zachary B Bjornson-Hooper, Gabriela K Fragiadakis, Matthew H Spitzer, Han Chen, Deepthi Madhireddy, Kevin Hu, Kelly Lundsten, David R McIlwain, Garry P Nolan. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. March 11, 2022.

This comparative immune atlas describes differences among sampled humans, mice and non-human primates. Mouse blood was pooled into six tubes, and the human dataset overlaps a companion study. Selected differences face antibody-affinity and unexplained denominator limits. Nolan advised the study and edited the manuscript. FDA/NIH support is acknowledged without identifying all individual award recipients; it does not establish a UAP programme or private approach. Review excludes operational biological sections, Discussion and Methods.

CellSeg: a robust, pre-trained nucleus segmentation and pixel quantification software for highly multiplexed fluorescence images

Michael Y. Lee, Jacob S. Bedia, Salil S. Bhate, Graham L. Barlow, Darci Phillips, Wendy J. Fantl, Garry P. Nolan, Christian M. Schürch. ebi.ac.uk. January 18, 2022.

CellSeg combines a pretrained nucleus-segmentation model with image scaling, stitching, mask expansion and pixel statistics. Historical benchmark scores and representative tissue examples have different provenance and settings; densely packed tissue remains difficult. A colorectal comparison reuses 140 samples from 35 people and provides author-described gating and correlation. Correlation does not establish exhaustive cell truth or universal clinical accuracy. Source-native metric definitions, count conflicts and caption errors are preserved.
