UFO Afrinews No21 (January 2000) — contact offers, failed meetings and personal recollections

Cynthia Hind. files.afu.se. January 2000.

The issue preserves alleged anonymous contact offers to two witnesses, an attended meeting where nobody arrived and a site visit that found no claimed facility. Hind recalls private conversations and a civilian meeting invitation from Hynek. Willsher recounts an uncertain contractor conversation; Wintle critiques missing follow-up in Alien Base. Attributed recollections retain missing originals, contrary observations and an explicitly fictional officer story. No22 publishes witness corrections to the received first-draft account; the original copy remains preserved.

Forward to David Jacobs’ “The UFO Controversy in America” (1975)

J. Allen Hynek. files.afu.se.

Hynek recalls becoming an Air Force astronomical consultant in 1948 and observing reports and their institutional treatment. He acknowledges misidentifications and sensational narratives while arguing that a residual dataset deserves investigation. Claims about patterns, physical effects and the Condon report lack their supporting records here. His methodological appeal is to establish legitimate empirical data before testing extraterrestrial visitation; professional standing and sincere testimony do not eliminate mistakes.

UFOs and the Extraterrestrial Contact Movement, Volume One — selected chapters

George M. Eberhart. cufos.org. 1986.

Eberhart maps literature, light reports, propulsion, radar, encounters, abduction, retrieval, effects, animal and space reports. Moore/Stringfield, Cash–Landrum, Gill and government-interest stories retain attribution and unread originals. Maritime, Tunguska, lunar and early historical interpretations retain ordinary alternatives, fiction and source cautions. J. Gordon Melton signs the religious introduction; psychic hypotheses and public-belief titles are distinct from clinical findings or event proof. Editions, replies, unseen originals and poll-title numbers remain qualified. Bibliography titles establish no alien artifact, secret access or completed original study.
