UFO Afrinews No21 (January 2000) — contact offers, failed meetings and personal recollections
The issue preserves alleged anonymous contact offers to two witnesses, an attended meeting where nobody arrived and a site visit that found no claimed facility. Hind recalls private conversations and a civilian meeting invitation from Hynek. Willsher recounts an uncertain contractor conversation; Wintle critiques missing follow-up in Alien Base. Attributed recollections retain missing originals, contrary observations and an explicitly fictional officer story. No22 publishes witness corrections to the received first-draft account; the original copy remains preserved.

How we check sources
Not checked yet
- All supplied extracted text and ten native layouts were reviewed, including one reconstructed mark diagram. Eighteen other layouts, fine glyphs, original recordings, letters, discs, photographs, laboratory results, flight and official records and cited books remain outside scope. Exact publication day is unknown.
- Anonymous contact messages claimed selection; their institutional origin is unverified. No22 removes this copy’s classified-envelope wording and changes phone to pager. Nobody arrived at the meeting, the site visit was negative and a tape remained unread. Destroyed discs and discarded devices leave custody gaps.
- Hynek conversations and the civilian meeting invitation are Hind’s personal recollections with missing dates and originals. Willsher’s contractor identity, dates, company and facility purpose are uncertain; later base associations are inference. Weather-balloon, aircraft-ice and contrary accounts are retained.
- Hair analysis is a dependent summary without original results, controls, custody or replication. Historical astronomical predictions are unverified here. Wintle’s officer story is expressly fiction; his complete book review does not supply the book. No private patient records were collected.
- The received No21 copy matches passages corrected in No22 (printed 23–25). The errata also remove a membership claim and CD-ROM wording and confirm self-extracting wording. Original text and prior review remain preserved; the corrected full edition was not received.
