The UFO Evidence1964 — NICAP publisher archive HTML text

NICAP’s compilation combines witness reports, sketches, photo reproductions and hypothetical diagrams. Forty-six selected embedded images have been viewed across eight preserved packets. Controls and compiler taxonomy add visual context. Map timings and close-up reconstructions retain uncertainties; original negatives, calibration and held agency records remain gaps.

What we checked

The accepted supplied narrative covers14,963 Library lines, introduction, fourteen sections and22 linked tables. Image review covers46 of68 unique embedded URLs across eight disjoint packets,62 native rendition files and twelve finite details. Larger versions and crops add no inventory entries. Specialists viewed pixels; root reviewed complete analytical reports, attribution, limitations, residual inventory and immutable receipts. No narrative was reread. Twenty-two inventory URLs remain outside scope: cover/title context, documentary reproductions and unresolved agency-derived identities. Hypothetical constructions, aircraft comparisons and motion schematics provide visual context only. The Levelland map supplies reported geography/times, with one blank time. Gill, Moreland and Hill drawings are expressly qualified as neither proved nor disproved. These images do not complete an original illustrated facsimile, authenticate negatives or establish occupants, trajectories or physical mechanisms. Held originals and Smithsonian-derived photo181 were excluded before pixels.

How we check sources

Not checked yet

  • Sketches and artistic reconstructions depend on the same NICAP compilation and do not add independent witness streams. Original signed statements, logs, photographs, radar traces and custody records remain absent.
  • Dallas object altitude is conditional geometry, distinct from labelled aircraft altitudes. Redmond radar duration and altitude are annotations without instrument data. Geographic map scales and ROUTE30EAST do not measure UFO speed or range.
  • Chiles–Whitted’s caption is misplaced within Redmond prose; the rendition’s July23,1948 date remains unrepaired. Fortenberry’s Second/Third Officer role conflict, uncertain signatures and tiny labels remain unresolved.
  • Nash’s account of USAF questioning, stenotype and additional reports is a witness relay without those originals. Initial natural explanations and absent radar confirmation remain retained. Held agency originals and complete illustrated-book coverage are excluded.
  • Later figures preserve Rodriguez/Higgins placement mismatches, two illustrations of one Otis account, uncertain size/range estimates and a reported unnamed Langley intelligence interrogation without its record. Carson’s teletype and official alternatives are relays; five Ohio map locations do not prove one object. Sunnyvale’s final handwritten verb remains unreadable.
  • The new photographic prints lack original negatives, complete camera/exposure records and authentication. Salem’s quoted Coast Guard unknown-cause letter was not acquired. A greenish raster cast is not emission color; Trent/Rouen resemblance does not prove independence or origin. Peirce’s second handwritten date is uncertain, and the Ohio phase chart admits unreliable angles.
  • Gibbons and Takeda images are expressly drawings from photographs. Trindade prints, prior hoax disputes and press-relayed Navy assurances remain unverified. The Angel Falls annotated still supplies no full-film or original-custody evidence. A lens-flare control does not automatically classify its neighbouring image.
  • Bicknell’s newspaper-relayed estimates and asserted film lack originals; the balloon inquiry is retained. Hypothetical shape examples have unresolved legend glyphs. Sarasota’s interpreted portholes do not establish occupants. Potter’s caption says Pohang while parent text says Pohano. Weather-observer background establishes no programme access.
  • The Levelland map’s ten report sites and ten-mile scale do not establish a common object or electromagnetic causality; the combine’s time remains blank. Close-up silhouettes and line fans are artist/witness reconstructions with no measured scale. Original statements, sketches and artist custody are absent; NICAP’s adverse borderline-case caveat remains explicit.
