UFO Afrinews No4 (February 1991) — alleged military assignment and limited soil findings

The issue relays an unnamed Brazilian photographer’s alleged naval assignment through an investigator and Irene Granchi, while Hind questions dates and offers competing explanations. It preserves a counteraccount about a film reportedly examined and returned by the US Air Force. Witness accounts, a language critique and a small soil table retain their limitations. Wintle’s review describes claimed Brazilian military involvement through Vallée’s book, with original orders and records absent.

How we check sources

Not checked yet

  • All supplied extracted text and fourteen native layouts were reviewed, including reconstructed diagrams, selected script examples and the soil table. Fourteen other layouts and fine glyphs remain unreviewed. Original recordings, affidavits, photographs, film, letters, orders, laboratory and clinical records and cited books remain outside scope.
  • The alleged naval assignment passes through an unnamed photographer and investigator to Granchi and Hind. Photos were reportedly withheld. Dates conflict, Hind questions the account, and alternatives remain visible. The supposed USAF letter has uncertain authorship; a helicopter investigation is reported as hearsay, without logs or pilots’ testimony.
  • Four soil samples are described, but only three pH values are printed. A further geologist report was awaited. No original laboratory report, calibration, statistical test or causal link is established. The script critique includes a correction acknowledging similar characters. Later No5 corrects the child’s age and cot account.
  • Wintle’s complete supplied review is not the full Vallée book or the original Brazilian military and medical records. Claims about confidential orders remain relayed. Wright-Patterson material custody is explicitly unproved and denied. Sleep and dream accounts retain failed follow-ups and uncertain dates; proposed hypnosis was not performed.
