Rice MS0773 Edwin C. May papers — public finding aid, Box48 metadata and digital index

Rice’s public finding aid describes the Edwin May collection, donated in2018–2019, and lists remote-viewing folders and six digital groups. This review covers catalogue text. The underlying archival documents and recordings remain unread. The listing supports the existence of catalogued material; it does not confirm Buchanan’s later donation request was fulfilled or establish claims made within the collection.

What we checked

Read13,654 collection-description characters, both Box48 pages covering20 folder listings, and the37,519-character digitized index in complete returns. The2019 administrative authors differ from the historical note’s authors. Swann and Puthoff are discussed subjects, not catalogue authors or interview participants. The guide records35 linear feet and54 boxes; its access list names boxes1–44. Six digital groups and multiple session-camera renditions are metadata leads. Also read49,464 characters across six digital-object metadata pages and3,594 access-policy characters. Four groups list194 video files; all six Go to file links lead to the staff-request policy. Disk/CD notes identify nearline storage. Object/policy publication dates are unknown;2019 remains the guide date.

How we check sources

Not checked yet

  • All20 Box48 folder bodies,54-box collection originals,194 listed video files, disk/CD contents, photographs and raw experiments remain unread or unreceived. The four groups’ summed123.4GB extents are catalogue metadata, not received bytes or unique appearances. All six Go to file links offer a staff-request route. No request, appointment, account, permission or file receipt has occurred; boxes45–54 locations remain unresolved.
  • The student historical narrative depends on a2015 book and2017 biography. Its native birth-year, corporate-history and programme-date wording is qualified; current roles are not verified for2026. Folder and audiovisual dates extend outside the collection summary. Repeated session-camera and television renditions are not independent witnesses or experiments.
  • May’s2018–2019 donation does not establish that Buchanan’s2022 request resulted in a deposit or that Rice holds all Swann material. A Buchanan query returned the repository landing page rather than search results; it supports no absence inference. Archive-original publication permissions and access arrangements remain unresolved. No new case, psychic validation or UAP-custody proof follows.
  • The floppy catalogue says a vendor could not identify recovered content, with at most80KB probably software; its97.6MB image extent is a separate quantity. This does not establish erased classified material or UFO content. Static access-policy HTML includes hidden login and approved-IP template strings, which do not verify an authenticated session or restricted-access permission. No disks, programmes or source code were executed.
