Interview · S7580

Episode40: Avi Loeb | Our Interstellar Visitor

Loeb recounts Yuri Milner asking him to lead Starshot and his own message to Milner about the interstellar object. These are claimed private research contacts with no original correspondence supplied. The interview preserves natural alternatives and admits uncertain artificial origin. It is a public edited transcript; the longer paid edit and original audio remain unreviewed.

What we checked

All30 native PDF leaves and75,955 extracted characters were read in eight complete returns; all page pixels were inspected in fifteen pairs. How we check sources

Not checked yet

  • Leaves8–9 contain Loeb’s claimed firsthand private-funder invitation and message to Milner. Dates, correspondence, appointment and funding contracts are missing. No government approach, classified briefing or recovered-material access is stated.
  • Radiation-pressure reasoning repeats the same Bialy/Loeb work family, not a new empirical study. Measurements are interview summaries of prior observations. Natural chemistry, observation errors, shape/size assumptions and detection selection remain alternatives.
  • Deliberate reconnaissance, navigation infrastructure and future detection forecasts are conditional interpretations. Lack of an imagined natural mechanism is not exhaustive elimination. Credentials, acceptance, publicity and repeated quotations do not independently validate origin.
  • Native less-than1mm versus20mm wording, outside-galaxy versus solar-system language, damaged names and inaudible/crosstalk markers remain unrepaired. Original AV, transcript fidelity, emails, referee correspondence and raw observations were not reviewed.
  • The public shortened edit and host-only commentary do not establish the entire original conversation. Its longer paid edition, recording date and source timing remain gaps; no account, spending or private-feed action occurred.
