Why Square Roots of Probabilities?
Knuth explores square-root probability representations through real vectors and inner products. He explicitly calls the proposal inconclusive and nonrigorous. Normalization, orthogonality and nonzero-context assumptions constrain the construction. Unpublished derivation and final-publication gaps remain; mathematical consistency here does not validate unrelated UAP claims.

All six supplied PDF pages and11,512 native characters were read in three complete two-page returns, with all page pixels inspected. Coverage includes25 equations, Theorem1, three footnotes, fourteen references and unnumbered vectors, matrices and determinants. Root matched each page text to actual returns. The native arXiv history/margin says February12,2016, title says March29 and PDF metadata March28; the March identifier component also remains unreconciled. Final proceedings and the unpublished Skilling derivation were not received.

How we check sources
Not checked yet
- The construction assumes chosen vector quantification, normalization and orthogonality. Zero context makes the denominator undefined; squared ratios alone determine magnitudes rather than the positive-root sign. These are review observations, not supplied resolved proofs.
- The cited orthogonal-additivity theorem permits a linear term as well as a quadratic one. No additional supplied derivation eliminates that term or establishes full complex quantum amplitudes. The author withholds rigorous foundational completion.
- Inverse-volume prior appropriateness is expressly separate from the algebra. Native index/notation/spelling differences remain uncorrected. Font substitutions and unexplained dates limit exact version fidelity.
- No empirical measurements, raw data, executed code, independent validation, government contact or UAP outcome appears. Final proceedings, unpublished derivation and cited bodies remain unread; funding and conflict declarations are absent.
