Foreword to The Messengers by Richard Dolan

Dolan interprets owl encounters and other personal accounts collected by Mike Clelland. He reports Clelland personally telling him of perceived clusters of incoming emails; the original messages and statistical evidence are absent. Anonymous stories pass through Clelland to Dolan, whose company published the book. Those dependencies, contrary observations and differing distances in a related interview remain unresolved. His interpretations do not establish cause or extraterrestrial origin.

What we checked

The author-hosted December 3, 2015 post offers Dolan’s foreword in its entirety. All 26 authored paragraphs were read, totaling 1,609 words. Context, byline and two public comments were reviewed separately. This completes the offered contribution; the whole book and final edition were not received. The wife of one commenter was uncertain she saw the reported owl; this is retained as a contrary observation.

How we check sources

Not checked yet

  • Final edition, native ISBN and copyright leaf, print pagination, whole book and its illustrations or apparatus were not received.
  • Underlying witness records, original email sequences and statistical analyses were not inspected. Anonymous narrators and commenters were not independently identified or mapped to other named witnesses.
  • The foreword gives 43 miles where the related interview gives 44; the cause is unknown. The earlier photographer-partner perception mismatch remains. Original audio or video was not reviewed.

Source limitations

  • Personal meaning, perceived timing and author endorsement do not establish a medical cause, verified contact or independent corroboration. No government approach or programme invitation is described in this contribution.
