Hastings describes purported Puthoff and Elizondo contacts, while relaying programme, film, funding and veteran-interview accounts. The update repeats established nuclear-UFO source families. Favorable initial interview reception, handwritten notes, a competing official conclusion and earlier ordinary alternatives remain preserved. Conflicting contact, interview and book-update dates are unresolved; scientific and disclosure predictions are attributed interpretations.

What we checked
The complete posted 2026 epilogue, all seven references, its author introduction and one anonymous-comment snapshot were read. The epilogue contains 3,162 words. Hastings calls this an updated Second Edition; final book concordance, copyright and ISBN leaves and print pages are absent. Repeated cases receive no independent witness or globally unique prose credit. Linked films, papers and external references were not read here.

- The stated December 2023 contact precedes February–March 2023 interviews, and an April 2026 addition is paired with January 2026 publication. Neither conflict is silently repaired; earlier differently dated contacts and interview counts remain preserved.
- Original emails, book orders, meeting records, film custody, interview recordings, oaths, notes, funding records, astronomical plate data and the discussed scientific paper were not inspected. DVD playback is relayed testimony; Hastings does not claim he viewed it.
- The whole book and final updated edition remain incomplete. Prior film, funding and AARO accounts are dependent sources; ordinary alternatives and competing conclusions are not overwritten by this update.
