What we checked
Earlier five chapters, catalogue 1–923, notes and index reading survives. Latest 64 whole Constable views bring received positional coverage to 391/394; three remain: damaged 161 and terminal 392–393. Root and three specialists viewed 16 positions each; analytical packets and source, dated and image pins reviewed. Blanks, repeated folios, notes and index layouts are positions, not unique narratives. Avalon remains a separate rendition with no repeat narrative, independent cases or book credit. Catalogue accounts preserve speaker and relay chains: Damon reports unnamed restaurant men requesting privacy; Whitman reports an anonymous message; Derenberger reports wordless communication. Reported police and Air Force approaches, named installations and invitations lack original records, authenticated agency identities and outcomes. Selfridge and Minot investigations are compiled accounts without received logs or radar. Negative and limiting findings survive: normal radiation, searches without traces, no recovered submerged object, failed transmitters, blurred or absent photographs and a diesel engine that continued. A prior engine stall or headache does not establish object causation. Schirmer’s later hypnosis account lacks the original recording and method. Bibliographic permission acknowledgments do not grant us rights or access; anonymous clinical anecdotes supply no patient records. Appendix reliability limits, source-family dependence, approximate dates, contradictory locators and damaged spellings remain. Edition/master, rights, cited originals, laboratory/custody, clinical/AV/truth and completion holds survive.

How we check sources
Not checked yet
- Consecutive opening layouts0–3 contain cover/back promotion, epigraph and Chapter1; no formal title/copyright/ISBN/imprint was received there. Physical edition and opening-leaf concordance remain unknown; this does not establish that an original edition omitted preliminaries. The damaged preposition on previously viewed zero161 remains unresolved and was not retried.
- The back-panel NASA consultation wording is promotional relay about Vallée, with no named initiating official, date, channel, task, original request or programme access. Promotional900 cases versus catalogue923 remains unreconciled. Author/promotional wording does not establish an independent government approach, material custody or claim truth.
- Plate193 caption supplies1493 and Verdun, France, but the apparent HermanSchaden spelling and damaged courtesy line remain qualified. Plate194 supplies Leonard H.Stringfield’s courtesy credit; publication-tail glyphs and drawing signature remain unresolved. Medieval art and the impressionistic1955 Loveland sketch are attributed images, without original archive custody, event authentication or photo evidence.
- Earlier source-family dependence, damaged text, edition, cited-original and illustration-provenance gaps remain. Prior handwriting, embedded objects and contact-map regions do not establish every composed layout was read. No newly authenticated case, witness, government programme, scientific replication or complete-book credit is added.
- A printed-page construction phrase remains damaged.
- Edition preliminaries and some illustration marks remain unresolved.
- Earlier checkpoint:71 of394 received Constable layouts were whole-viewed;323 remained. The latest391/394 count supersedes that numerical scope. Blank and repeated printed layouts add no independent narrative. Physical print identity, the 1993 filename and cover’s title variant remain uncollated. Damaged folios9/20/64, names and tiny superscripts remain unresolved; no constant page offset is inferred.
- Police, military and laboratory accounts are author relays without original reports, samples or custody records. Simonton’s ordinary terrestrial findings, sheriff noncorroboration, Charlton ironstone/Army-remit limits and conflicting Snippy explanations remain alongside witnesses’ claims. A quoted unclassified routine teletype does not establish classified access or a programme.
- Wentz, Sebillot, Creighton and Stross stories include unnamed informants, translation and nested retelling; literary verse and electrical/spacecraft hypotheses are not independent encounters or validated biology. Alencon date variants and later hoax criticism remain unresolved. A President invitation is hypothetical satire, and Hamilton’s affidavit date is not independently an event date.
- Earlier checkpoint135/394 left259 received layouts; latest391/394 supersedes that numerical scope. Newly viewed blanks92/94 added positional coverage, not narrative. Supplied printing, damaged names/superscripts and cited originals remain unresolved.
- Author’s failed BlueBook inquiry and personal Michel conversation are first-person book claims without original correspondence or unpublished observations. Civilian-leak and Irwin secret-investigation explanations are conjectural. Hill radar/visual times, appearance and voice descriptions differ; a book claim of listening does not establish our audio review.
- Loire police inquiry was reportedly dropped unsolved. Gallipoli introduction21August/quotation28August1915 disagree. Vidal5June1968 is a press date; clinic, consulate, car and contact records are missing. VillasBoas answered a newspaper appeal before Fontes/Martins questioning. Religious, literary and historical testimony does not authenticate physical, genetic or clinical claims.
- Earlier checkpoint199/394 left195 positions; current391/394 leaves three: held161 and terminal392–393. Blank and repeated printed layouts, notes and index positions add no independent narrative. Original images/interviews/custody, edition and rights remain unavailable.
- Author claims1963–1967 ATIC general-file review and credits Hynek with sharing AirForce documents. These are first-person book assertions without received access logs, authorization, original correspondence or files. Anonymous draft recipients, secret-organization letters and rumors lack dates/channels; redacted identities remain unreconstructed. Declined or refused access differs from achieved access.
- The appendix expressly disclaims proof of physical events and equal report reliability, and warns against using one case to validate another. Unreferenced Quincy accounts, translations/reprints, date errors and post1966 selective gathering limit counts. Unsupported theories, ordinary alternatives, conflicting clocks and missing original records remain; no occurrence-rate, programme, clinical or mechanism inference.
- Earlier64 views cover received positions200–263, not64 independent narratives. Hamel/FBI and Vico/stranger accounts are attributed book relays without agency originals, identified visitors or verified contact channels. Eubank initiated police contact; Durdle woke AirForce men. Pucusana private trip, declined or inferred invitations do not establish a programme. Garreau speech and Ujvari clocks conflict.
- Negative and ordinary findings remain: Buchy did not stall, Forli diesel continued, LaCoruna car was already broken down, drivers sometimes stopped voluntarily, Puyfourcat felt nothing and Chaumeau saw light only. Police inquiries and samples-for-analysis lack original records/results/custody. Claimed photographs are not received originals; materials analogies are not tests.
- Earlier64 views cover positions264–327; repeated folios252–253 at268/270 and269/271 are separate scan positions. Unnamed Kirtland personnel, strangenewsmen and Woomera investigators retain unknown names/channels/records. Reported prior knowledge is witness inference. Alleged boarding, telepathy and self-described missions do not authenticate agency or programme access.
- Ubatuba’s anonymous witness→newsman→Fontes-friends chain lacks sample/lab/custody originals. LakeChelan searches found nothing; Lyle police found no trace; LasVegas lacked landing evidence. Prior engine failure or fuel shortage, witnesses who heard only noise, failed access and nonmatching observations remain. Claimed photographs, radioactivity, hospital accounts and material comparisons lack original tests or causal verification.
- Latest64 views cover328–391, including blank378, repeated printed360 at379–380, notes and index. Damon’s unnamed restaurant men, Whitman’s anonymous message, Derenberger’s wordless speech and reported invitations retain attribution and missing originals. Police, Selfridge, Minot and Air Force approaches do not establish programme access, agency authentication or custody.
- Normal radiation, unsuccessful searches, absent traces, failed transmissions, blurred/absent photographs and a continuing diesel engine remain. Prior engine stalls and headaches do not establish object causation. Schirmer’s later hypnosis account lacks original recording/method. Bibliographic permissions do not grant us rights. Index labels and anonymous clinical anecdotes add no independently verified cases or patient records.
