The flux of small near-Earth objects colliding with the Earth

P. Brown, R. E. Spalding, D. O. ReVelle, E. Tagliaferri, S. P. Worden. aquarid.physics.uwo.ca. November 21, 2002.

Brown and colleagues estimate small near-Earth-object flux using bolide observations and conditional optical-energy calibration. Integral luminous efficiency depends on energy and population, assuming a6000K spectrum; fitted6–15% and adopted5–20% ranges qualify a universal10% assumption. The article retains an unusual excluded event and explicit nonendorsement by the US DoD.
